Defending Africa's right to decide
Hands Off Africa is a volunteer campaign amplifying African conservationists, community leaders, and policy experts who insist that dignity and evidence guide wildlife decisions.
We formed this campaign after years of listening to African community conservancies, tourism workers, and wildlife officers who shoulder the daily realities of living with lions, elephants, and rhinos. Their message is clear: policies debated in Westminster and Brussels must respect African sovereignty and the data showing what works on the ground. When outsiders remove livelihoods tied to wildlife, they also remove the incentives that keep wildlife and people safe.
Our work blends storytelling with policy evidence. We surface research, craft briefings, and support digital organising so advocates can respond quickly when misinformation spreads. We are guided by African partners who set the priorities and approve the narratives we share.
